De nuevo, el tiempo da un lugar a cada cosa y mi memoria al recorrer el último medio milenio, no hace otra cosa que reverenciar este gran hito formal que es la sonata. En mi temprana juventud, con la flauta, el cello y otras entidades camerísticas, dejé que esta forma me tocase con su varita mágica. Después, gracias al maestro Julian Bream, comencé a dotar a mi instrumento, la guitarra, de obras con esta forma sonata, estructura que nos trascenderá a todos.

Once again, time gives a place to everything and my memory, as I travel through the last half-millennium, does nothing but reverence the great formal milestone which is the sonata. In my early youth, I was touched by its magic wand through the flute, cello and other chamber ensembles. Later, thanks to the maestro Julian Bream, I began to endow my instrument, the guitar, with pieces written in the sonata form, a structure that would transcend us all.
